Helena Neighborhood Council
Representative of District 3
I am proud to have represented District 3 of the City of Helena Neighborhood Council (aka the "Helena Citizens' Council") since being first elected in 2021 and re-elected in 2023. I ran because I believe we can continue to build our already great community into an even better one, which is exactly what I have been working on since first joining the Council. Over the next decade, Helena will undoubtedly face rapid growth and change. To meet this challenge, we need a forward thinking and proactive Council that will push the City Commission to better meet the needs of Helenans.
As your District 3 Representative, I hope to work with you to (among other things):
Improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety
Enhance neighborhood livability
Ensure healthy, smart, and sustainable growth
Simply put, I enjoy living in Helena and raising my family here. Whether we are hiking along one of Helena's great trails, biking on the Centennial path to Spring Meadow State Park/Ten Mile Creek, or exploring one of our many wonderful parks, my family and I take full advantage of all the amazing things Helena has to offer. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. However, while I am out on the town chasing my two young sons around, I find myself thinking of simple ideas that would not only improve the safety of our community but also enhance the livability and aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood. Little improvements could go a long way for the safety of our community, including the addition of crosswalks, sidewalks, and bike lanes in logical corridors (particularly corriods connecting schools, i.e., safe routes to school).
As your current District 3 representative, I promise to continue representing our neighborhood with integrity, hardwork, and an even-keeled approach. Not only that, but I am all ears, so if you have ideas that you want me to bring forward while/if I am on the Council, please email me (chandler4HCC@gmail.com) anytime with suggestions.
About Me:
After graduating from Hellgate High School in Missoula in 2008, I attended the University of Montana, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Geography in 2012. I then moved to Washington, D.C. to work at the National Geographic Society and after that an international environmental non-profit. After nearly four years of living and working in D.C., I decided to further my education at the University of Montana Law School. Upon finishing law school in 2019, my family (Holly and our then newborn son) and I moved to Helena where I served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Chief Justice Mike McGrath of the Montana Supreme Court for a year before joining the Uda Law Firm where I currently practice renewable energy law.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, planning out family adventures, bicycling (road and mountain), woodworking, home improvement, hunting, and playing guitar, basketball, and soccer.
